What Dingpin is
Dingpin is a free Android app that lets you pin notes and notifications to the top of your notification shade, so the things that matter — an OTP, a pickup time, a medication reminder — stay visible instead of sliding away into the noise.
Why it was built
It started as a personal fix. Like a lot of people, the developer kept losing track of one-off but important notifications: a verification code that scrolled off, a "I'll grab the kids at 3" message, a reminder buried under app spam. Android's notification shade is the one place you always look, so pinning there just made sense. Dingpin is the version that ended up being useful enough to polish, open source, and share.
Open source
Dingpin is built on top of Pinnit by Sasikanth Miriyampalli, used under the Apache License 2.0. The source code is available on GitHub: github.com/CxAxin/Dingpin. Modifications and attribution are recorded in the repository's NOTICE file.
Private by design
Dingpin runs entirely on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no upload of your notifications to any server. Pinned items, captured history, and exports stay on your phone. The companion website uses Google AdSense to stay free; see the Privacy Policy for details.
Who makes it
Dingpin is maintained by an independent developer as a side project. It is not backed by a company, and there are no upsells — just a tool that does one job well.
